Lauderdale County District Traffic
Traffic citations are a major District Court access point. The local traffic court source says a citation is issued for appearance before Lauderdale County District Court. If a defendant fails to pay or otherwise dispose of the case before the court date and fails to appear, a warrant may be issued, the driver license may be suspended by ALEA, the fine may be increased, and any bond may be forfeited. The court date on the ticket is not a trial date.
A person who wants to plead not guilty and request a trial must use the Online Traffic Resolution system. Eligible payments may be made through Alapay, automated phone payment, or mail using money order or cashier's check. The traffic source says no personal checks. Driving school requests also start through OTR before registration, and Community Corrections handles approved registration in person on the local schedule.
